This wonderful old faceting display was probably used in a jewelry store to show the faceting process from a rough stone to the finished product, which in this case looks to be a modern brilliant cut. There are 10 stones showing the faceting process from rough stone to finished and a display stand for each one (except the rough stone). I estimate the age between the 1940s to 1960s based on the box they are in, which is cloth covered wood. Condition is very good. Three of the stones have tiny nicks on them at either the very bottom or along a sharp edge but they are tiny and not significant. I don't know ifi they are made of glass or crystal but they do have a play of rainbow color in the light so they could be crystal. The large uncut stone has no lid, the larger display box does have a lid. It would be perfect for people who facet stones and display or sell faceted stones at shows or just a cool collectable for stone collectors. I have never seen another set like this but it reminds me of the sets that are for sale from time to time of "famous diamonds" that come in a similar box.
